About East Indian Cultural & Heritage Tour :

Peaceful palm-lined streets, unspoiled beach, and pervasive Portuguese heritage make the town of Vasai. Vasai is located in the northern outskirts of Mumbai, surprisingly reminiscent of Goa. You’d never guess but Vasai was once of more importance than Mumbai. In the 16th and 17th centuries, it was a headquarters of Portuguese rule with a thriving fort city. Nowadays, it’s a cool oasis that feels blissfully stuck in a time warp.

On this tour you will see a contrasting side to Mumbai, from Old churches to fishing colonies to a local home-made East Indian food to a 5 time world UNESCO awardee wood carver. A and to top that a cycling tour to historic Vasai fort and an evening visit to a beach.

Itinerary :

Day 1 :

Tour Starts  in Vasai .

Hotel Check-in

3:30 pm : Meet & Greet

Meet our expert at Meeting Point. A short tour brief by the expert

3:45 pm : 400yr old  Church (First church build outside Vasai Fort)

Hop on to the Rickshaw arranged for you . Our first stop will be one of the oldest churches in Vasai and Mumbai. Visit to St.Thomas Sandor Church . It was built during the 16th century, and remained in the hands of the Portuguese for about two centuries, during which it prospered and flourished.

4:00 pm: World UNESCO awardee wood carver

Next will be a visit to a 5 time World UNESCO awardee wood carver and we shall get to see his work up close.

5:00 pm : Sunset at beach

Enjoy your evening with a beautiful sunset at the local beach .You may also take a dip in the sea or play frisbee .

6:30 AM : Day Two Meeting

Meet our expert at Meeting Point. Bicycles are arranged for you.

6:50 AM : Our first stop will be the Historic Vasai fort.

Fort Tour with the expert. Vasai Fort is surrounded by sea on three sides and to the land side it had a moat which is filled with sea water. It’s 4.5 kilometers long strong stone wall had 11 bastions.
